F Pecia 1% Tablet is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hair loss in men. At a certain dosage, it promotes hair growth, while at a different dosage this medicine relieves the symptoms of BPH.

Finasteride is used to treat symptoms of BPH such as frequent and difficult urination and may reduce the chance of acute urinary retention (sudden inability to urinate). It also may decrease the chance that prostate surgery will be needed.

It treats early forms of male pattern hair loss (also known as androgenetic alopecia). Finasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It blocks the body's production of a male hormone in the scalp that stops hair growth, thereby reversing the balding process and preventing further hair loss.
